The Monkey and the Crocodile बंदर और मगरमच्छ
A monkey lived in a jamun tree by a river and became friends with a crocodile, sharing sweet jamuns with him every day. The crocodile took some home to his wife, who thought: if the fruit is this sweet, the monkey's heart must be sweeter still. She demanded it.
The crocodile invited the monkey home, carrying him across the river on his back. Midway, he confessed his wife wanted the monkey's heart. The monkey stayed calm. "Friend, why didn't you say so? I keep my heart safe in the tree. Take me back and I'll fetch it."
The foolish crocodile swam back. The monkey leapt into the branches and called down, "Nobody keeps their heart in a tree! Our friendship is over."

Moral: Presence of mind can save you in danger — and never trust someone who has betrayed you.
संकट में सूझबूझ ही रक्षा करती है — और धोखा देने वाले पर फिर कभी भरोसा न करें।
